Why lift with Restylane?
Our facial bones give shape and structure to our face. As we age, bone resorption increases, leading to loss of definition and contours, especially at the posterior part of the jawline. Another consequence of ageing is volume loss in the mid-face, which could lead to flat cheeks, saggy skin and jowling. Creating a non surgical face lift with Restylane can compensate for these changes. Restylane Defyne and Restylane Lyft can be tailored to any individual look to give you the freedom to be original. If you have a thinner tissue coverage, Restylane Defyne could be preferred as it is slightly softer and more flexible.

Your Restylane treatment
A treatment with Restylane takes approximately 15-45 minutes, depending on the area that will be treated. Sometimes you might need a touch-up treatment about two weeks after the initial treatment to optimise your results. Most Restylane fillers contain a local anaesthetic, numbing agent, that takes away most of the discomfort during treatment.
Immediately after your dermal filler treatment, you may experience some post-treatment side effects, such as redness, swelling, pain, bruising or tenderness at the treatment site. These side effects usually disappear within one week after injection. Though fillers are minimally invasive, they still carry some risks. Before the treatment, you should discuss all possible risks and benefits with your healthcare practitioner.

How it works
Hyaluronic acid is a substance that has a unique ability to bind water. Hyaluronic acid occurs naturally in our bodies and in all layers of our skin. It keeps our body tissues soft, hydrated and flexible. However, as we age, the body’s ability to produce hyaluronic acid lessens, leading to dry and thinner skin and loss of youthful volume.
Native hyaluronic acid in the body degrades quickly, in one to two days. To make the hyaluronic acid in Restylane Defyne and Restylane Lyft last longer—for up to at least a year or even two years for Restylane Lyft with one re-treatment —Galderma has used stabilisation technologies that delay degradation. Restylane Defyne and Restylane Lyft contain hyaluronic acid gels that provide support to maintain structure and projection.
Restylane was the first ever non-animal stabilised hyaluronic acid filler, when it was launched in 1996.

How long does the treatment take?
A treatment with Restylane does not take long. Depending on the area and indication, it takes approximately 15-45 minutes. A touch-up treatment is sometimes performed approximately two weeks after the initial treatment to optimise the results.
Is the treatment painful?
Some people may experience mild discomfort. Most Restylane fillers contain an integrated local anaesthetic, to provide you with a more comfortable treatment experience. You and your healthcare practitioner may decide whether additional pain relief is needed.
Can everyone have a treatment with Restylane fillers?
Ask your healthcare practitioner if you will benefit from treatment with any of the hyaluronic acid products within the Restylane range. It is important when discussing your medical history to tell your practitioner everything, including all medicines that you are taking, any present and past allergies and their seriousness, and all current or past medical conditions you have had. Your practitioner will discuss potential side effects from the injection of Restylane and how serious they may be. You should also inform your practitioner if you have received previous aesthetic treatments, both surgical and non-surgical.
Who should not have a Restylane filler treatment?
Patients with a known allergy to hyaluronic acid based products should not undergo treatment, nor should patients with bleeding disorders, or active skin disease such as inflammation, infection or tumours in or near the area to be treated. Discuss contraindications, warnings and precautions with your healthcare practitioner before Restylane filler treatments.
Can I have a Restylane filler treatment if I am pregnant?
The Restylane products have not been tested in pregnant or breastfeeding women and are therefore not recommended if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
What happens after the treatment?
